Team Vietnam Mixed Opens as a wild card entrant to the tournament shocked many with their efforts to come within 1 point of making the Grand Finals against World No.1 team Australia. Losing to Pacific Islands in extra time in the preliminary finals was a great achievement for Vietnam. Pacific Islands went on to the grand final against Australia, losing 9 – 7.
